Hey all! Just wondering if anyone still checks in here from time to time. After a bit of a hiatus (our trip to Utah was WAY too tasty) Matt & I are back to work. He still has some work to hit his goal and I have a few pounds I would like to shed. So if anyone is ready to take another try, let's use this to spur each other on! I know we can all do this!

Final results?
Not quite... While the contest may be done, we are not! I am still totally flabbergasted by what Matt has accomplished! With his 60.6 pound, 21% weight loss, he won the contest at the local gym. He won himself free training sessions (or torture sessions, depending on how you look at it). He also got some coupons - one of which I get to use to get my hair done. So I guess I won, too! He did just miss out on the grand prize, but that is perfectly fine. Another thing I won is that he gave in and let me get him a new suit even though he hasn't quite hit his goal weight. He had enough of the comments from people at church but especially his loving daughters! He looks great and I can't wait to get him a couple really nice suits when he is all done!
As for me, it has been slow going the last few weeks. My final numbers were 27.5 pounds or 16.7 pounds (sorry, one of our posts was wrong). The best part is I am feeling much better over all and my hips and knees are a bit more forgiving when I decide to go for a jog!
Like I said, Matt & I are not done. We both still have some pounds that we would like to lose. And whether you all have more pounds you want to lose or just want to continue living a bit more healthfully, I would suggest we continue to use this site to encourage one another and ask questions, give tips, anything at all that would help.
We all did a great job these past 3 months. Let's all keep it up and stay healthy and HOT!

It's over
O.k. I haven't lost anymore weight. but at least I didn't gain any from last week when we were on vacation. I was scared because I was a pig. My total weight lost is 18 lbs. 10.8% I should of done better, but I am not going to give up. I still want to loose about another 20 lbs. I am just a little slow at it.
Good job everyone. It was kinda fun.

Paul and Angie
Is Jenelle coming on Saturday? We actually used all our spending money on our trip (and then some) so we won't be going to Hu-Hot, it might be better for us to just play games one of these Sundays. We miss your family and would love to get together. Sorry for being so wishy washy, but with Naaman's game so early in the day, we would either have to wait around for a few hours or come into town twice. It just makes more sense to do it another day.

Sounds Good
We just got back from vacation, and I regret to say we have gained a couple of pounds. We were very naughty and ate lots of delicious food!! We both know we are not going to win, but we will post on Saturday anyway.
We are looking forward to Saturday, and 4:00 sounds fine. Naaman's game will get over at 12:00 and we will go to my parents house or something until dinner. See you soon.

Final Party
We are having an adult get together on Saturday for anyone who can join us. We will start the evening at 4pm at Hu-Hot. After that you are invited to come over to Matt and Annette's home for games and fun. We are trying to make contact by phone but are having problems getting ahold of some of you. Let us know if you are interested. I know this may not work for everyone but still wanted to throw out the invite. We were planning on having final weigh ins also on Saturday. We are not sure how some of you are doing do to the lack of posting. If there is anyone out there that is over 20% lost let us know and we can do an official weight in. If not, you can just do a final weight in and post on the blog if you would like. Matts last percentage was around 20, annette was around 18 and angie was around 15. If you others can top those let us know and we can do weigh ins. Matt and Janel have a few extra days but I was not planning on weighing in a week later if I was in the lead just so we could end on the same date. But If I am not in the lead we will have final results on the 17th. Congrats to everyone on their hard work. Hope to hear from you soon.

We were wondering if we could have our little party earlier of Sat. the 10th. We will already be in the Valley for Naaman's soccer game and it would be better if we didn't have to come into spokane twice. I was hoping we could go to Hu-Hut for lunch instead? Talk to you soon.

Oz Fitness Results
I was pretty excited today! Been working hard and it is so nice to be feeling better and sticking with this goal. I give most the credit to Netty. She has been so supportive and helping me with the diet (food) aspect. Watching her over the years set goals and accomplish them has really inspired me to try to better myself. Thank you Netty for being such a wonderful person and the love of my life! You are so beautiful inside and out!
Any way, I wanted to report on my final Oz contest results. Went in this morning for my final 2 hour workout and did an old fashion sweatsuit wrestling workout to try to sweat off any water weight I may have (remember those fun workouts to try to cut weight in wrestling Paul?) Anyway, I was thrilled when I stepped on the scale. Lost 60.6 pounds, 44 inches and that makes 21% lost. Still not to my goal yet but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Then it is taking what I have learned and using it to help me make better lifestyle choices for that dreaded maintain phase (never done that before so will hit that bridge when I get to it). Anyway, thanks everyone for all the support. It has been great doing this together. I wanted to see if everyone might want to have a group weigh in on April 10 at our house and then maybe hit Hu-Hot after to celebrate. Maybe present the award and have games or something. We have everyones money expect Alicia so if you could drop it off or send in a check we can have the prize money all ready on that date. ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT!!!

Isn't it exciting? Getting so close! Infact, Matt has his weigh in later today (Thursday 3/24) at Oz Fitness. He has done so great! I will make sure he posts his gym final stats after his weigh in. People are constantly commenting on his suit. It looks like he is wearing a tent these days. But he will not let me buy him a suit until he hits his goal. Hopefully by the end of next month...
While I know I should be happy with my results, I just feel like I have been working alot harder than the scale reflects! I hit 25 pounds today - 15%. I'll keep it going - till the end of our competition and beyond! This is going to be a permanent change and not just another weight roller coaster ride!
Keep it up, losers!

The last stretch
I can't believe we have less than 20 days left. I a excited for the changes I have made, but to be honest I could have done a lot better. I cheated way too much.
Last Saturday I ran 5 (11 min.) miles in the Rapid Rabbit Run without stopping. Not bad for a person who hates running (or used to hate it). I saw Nellie there and she is looking GREAT!! Amie and I decided we were going to run the Windermere Marathon on 5-15. It sounds like we might see a few of you there.
This week I only lost 1 pound making it a total of 18 pounds and 10.9 % fat lost.
I made a comment about a get together on your last blog Annette, I am now sure if you got it. It sounds great to us to have a little get together. The only time we can is this week on either Saturday or Sunday. The following week we are going to Utah for a little vacation. Hope to see you soon.

Nellie Update...
I've had a pretty good week so far. I have lost 4 more pounds over the last couple of days and had an awesome workout after work so I'm hopeful. I personally can't see a difference when I look in the mirror but my clothes are definitely fitting differently... I no longer need to unbutton my jeans to take them off. :-)
Go Losers!
Go Losers!
Matt & Annette
First of all...Way to go, Angie! It's tough to get going again when you've been off track. Keep it up! An while, he may not be losing, I am quite jealous of Paul. I have a whole list of things I want to eat when we are done with this contest. He is eating them now - I am sure of it!
Matt is at a bit of a plateau. He is down 45 pounds (15.5%). His goal is 5 more pounds by his official weigh-in at the gym next week. After that, he will keep at it until the end of the family competition. I'm telling you all - he's an animal! There is no stopping him!
I plateaued again this week. Yes there was hormones and water retention, but this is happening with too much frequency. I can't decide if I need to drop my calories even more or give them a boost for a while. So needless to say - no change for me this week. It's getting old!
Would anyone like to get together and do another low cal gathering? I was thinking it was past time. I'd like to squeeze one in prior to our final gathering to weigh in...Thoughts?

finally a little lost
Yeah, this week I finally lost 2 more lbs. That is a total of 17 lbs. 10.2%. It is not as good as Matt and Annete, but I haven't given up yet. Paul said he gained a little this week while he was on a business trip in Seattle, they are always eating out. He still looks hot though!!

Paul and Angie
We haven't been posting as we should because we haven't lost any more weight. Each week we are determined to do better and at the beginning of the week we both usually do well, then the weekend comes and we blow it. It sure seems like it takes a lot of hard work to lose a pound, but only a day of cheating to gain it back. It isn't fair. Sorry we haven't been much competition lately. Paul's new position at work isn't helping either, he has to take clients out to lunch and dinner often.
Annette, you should be very proud of yourself, 22 lbs. lost in a little over 2 months is awesome!!! Good job both of you.

Where did we all go?
So it looks like it has been a while since we ALL have posted. Last week wasn't the greatest for me & Matt, but we were better this week. Matt continues to be amazing! He is down 43 pounds - a whopping 14.8%!!!! There is no stopping this boy! I am so incredibly proud of him!!!
I still struggle week to week. I think I should be losing faster than I am - but I am losing. I am now down 22.5 pounds which is 13.6%. I don't think there is any way I will be able to catch Matt! I did get a body fat test again today and that continues to show improvement. So that helps a little. I am down another 4.4% there. So at least I keep moving in the right direction!
Keep it up everybody!!!!

Paul and Angie
Sorry we haven't posted yet, I keep meaning to everyday and life happens.
We took a little brake a couple of weeks ago and it has been difficult to get back on track. Every week I will lose at the beginning of the week and then the weekend comes, and so does yummy food everywhere. Paul and I haven't changed in about 3 weeks. Paul has lost 28 lbs. and I have lost 15 lbs. Great job everyone!

Matt & Annette
Howdy! This is Annette posting for us again this week. We continue to do well. Mat had a bit of a recovery week. He increased his calories a little and backed off on the work outs the past couple days because he was feeling a bit run down. His body needed a little recovery time. He feels good again and is hitting it hard once again! That being said, he is maintaining weight loss and is now @ 12.7% total lost. I'm so proud of him!
As for me, I hit the 20 pound mark this morning. I wanted to be there last week, but I'll take it this week. That puts me at 12.1%. I just cannot catch Matt in total percentage lost. I don't know what else to do to get him. He is unstoppable!
Keep it up you big losers!

BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG...BLOG!
Things are going well. This week has been the most successful week yet. Weighed myself last night before bed and then this morning when I weighed myself again I had lost four pounds! Changed my workout routines this week and it must be working. Not sure about my total weight loss because my scale is a dinosaur. Planning on getting a new one this weekend (along with some Nike+ shoes :-) and I'll post my % once I know for sure.
From reading the posts is sounds like we're all a bunch of losers. Good job everyone!

Matt & Annette
Sorry we are posting late. It's all my fault! (Annette) I didn't get to the gym to weigh in on Saturday. I weighed in today after a sodium filled, hormone ruined, water retaining weekend!!!! Needless to say, I did not have big numbers. Only 1.5 pounds this weigh in - a measly 10.5%. And I didn't get to eat like Paul and Angie - NO FAIR!!! I expect to see good numbers next week again!
On the other hand, Matt continues to be fabulous!! Another 5 pounds. There is no stopping this man! He has now lost 12.1% of his starting weight! He is looking good and his clothes are falling off!

Boy this was a Yummy Week!
So this week proved to both Angie and I that we can maintain a healthy lifestyle enjoying all the foods we want and not gain a single pound! Is this not the ultimate goal? For example we started off Sunday evening with a BBQ smoked marinated chicken dinner with all the sides, followed by Monday treating our friends to apple wood smoked pork steaks, asparagus, and awesome broiled potato dinner with cupcakes for dessert. Tuesday was steak and lobster tails, Wednesday and Thursday I can't even remember those two days at all. Friday was our elder's quorum activity where cousin Ben made his famous Italian Lasagna and Desserts to die for. Saturday had to be the best of all as we treated the missionaries to my even more famous MEXICAN FIESTA! I had a butt load of Carne Asada over my apple wood bbq, with my homemade from scratch re-fried beans (3 hours to cook) Stuffed Chile Rellenos that had homemade chorizo and mexican cheese BBQ'd, Homemade Spanish Rice, and you would not believe how my scratch receipe guacamole turned out (YUM YUM!). Of course the fresh made Flour Tortillas were a hit. We had so much left over that we had Steak tacos for after sunday church lunch. IM STUFFED! Oh and did I mention I did not gain a single pound? AHHH YEAHHHH!
Suppose next week angie and I will have to lose a few pounds though.
What did you all eat this week? ;o)

Things Are Getting Tight, And Not Just Our Bodies!
First off Great Job Matt and Annette! 30lbs is awesome! and 16 pounds not bad! ;o)
Matt is definitely making this a challenge. As for Paul and angie? well, lets just say HOT comes to mind! Angie is now up to 15lbs with 9% taken off the top (and mid sections). Paul is not as amazing as matt (what's new) but 28 lbs total ain't nothing to shy at making his total percentage lost a measly 11.8%. So great job everyone, and look forward to your POSTS Alicia and Janelle!

YEAH MATT!!!!!!!!!!
Well, he did it!!! Matt's goal was to hit his 30 pound mark this week and he did it! So with an additional 7 pounds this week he is at a total percentage loss of 10.3%! I am so proud of him! He is working so hard. For so long he has had various projects to work on. This is now his project and boy is he focused!!!
As for me, it has been a hard week. I haven't been feeling the best so workouts have been minimal. But I keep moving in the right direction. Another 3 pounds for a total of 16 pounds lost. That puts me at 9.7%.
I am so proud of how hard everyone is working! Keep it up!!!

POST YOUR WEIGHT CHANGES WEEKLY
When we started the contest, it was agreed that we would meet every other week to weigh in. We decided it would be easier to post our changes weekly rather than getting together because everyone lives so far from each other. Some how a couple people have forgotten about that. PLEASE POST YOUR WEIGHT CHANGES WEEKLY!!! It is part of the contest.

Great job Annette! You still lost 15 lbs. of fat while gaining 8 lbs. of muscle. Awesome!
I was very impressed to see everyone's improvements on Sunday. I am amazed at some of your will power. I know I have got to step it up to keep up with everyone.
This was week 5 for Paul and I. I am at 12 lbs. and 7.5% loss. Paul is at an amazing 23 lbs. and 9.7% loss.
Great Job everyone!

Come out, come out where ever you are!!!! Stop just reading and post already!!!! We would all love to hear about your progress and cheer you on!
Feeling a bit better...
So I have been a bit frustrated that I wasn't seeing the numbers on the scale drop as fast I think they should be. Today I met with my trainer at the gym and asked him to do a follow up body fat test. The first was done one month ago. While there is still room for improvement, the new numbers were encouraging. My body fat percentage decreased 8.5%. That equals 15.4 pounds of fat gone!!!! I also added 8.4 pounds of lean body mass. So while the scale can be frustrating, it evidently does not tell the entire story.
Everyone is doing great! It is nice to see us all working hard to improve our health. Regardless of who takes home the money, we will all be BIG LOSERS!!!!!!

Matt and Annette
This is Matt posting for us this week. We had a good week although I think we both were hoping that with our increased effort we would see a little more. But we are both happy with our results. Annette is doing wonderful. She had the most will power I have ever seen. She also is a huge help to me with the food part and also motivating and pushing me to do more and more! This week she lost 2 lbs for a total of 13. Her total percentage is now 7.9 percent at the end of week 5.
I had a butt kicking this week and worked real hard. My body still only wanted to give my 5 lbs but I will take it. Going to even go harsher this week in an all out assault to try to get to my 30lb mark. At week 4 I am at 23lb and 7.9%. LETS GO GET 7lbs this week!!!!

We (Matt & Annette) are planning on attending. Question: Adults only, or kids also? I can't wait to see how HOT everybody is!
Here is the thought that Matt & I have had. This would be a great time to get checks from everyone and get the prize money all ready to go. I can pick up checks from everybody. I promise not to cash them until after I win!!!!!!
See you Sunday!

Not much change
Paul and I slowed down a little this week. I only lost 1 lb. (I am sure making chocolate chip cookies and eating most of the dough didn't help) that makes me at a total of 11 lbs. lost 6.6%. I did check my measurements and have lost a total of 5 inches, I'll take that. Paul has amazing self control and wheel power, but his body decided to fight back this week from all the torture, lossing only 1 lb. with a total of 19.5 lbs. 8.2%. I'll I can say I am glad we share pocket books, what's his is mine and what's mine is mine. :o)

Matt & Annette 1/23....
We continue to work hard. Sometimes wondering if it is hard enough... Watching all of you gets over whelming!! I may have to stop eating all together to catch you guys!
Matt is down another 5 pounds this week to a total of 18 lost (6.2%) in 3 weeks. I had some loss this week. I would have liked to seen more after NOTHING last week. But I will take 3 pounds how ever I can get them! So that takes me to a total of 11 pounds (6.7%) in 4 weeks.
But I am certain that the rest of you will run out of weight to lose soon and then Matt & I will sneak up from behind and take the lead. Better watch your backs!

Finally seeing some droppage.....
Droppage....is that a word??? Well it is now! After being inspired from the rest of you and your successes, I have finally had a little weight come off. Angela shared a diet/eating plan that she is on and we are both doing it together. So far the results are good. My biggest hurdle is trying to fit in exercise. I have no excuse other that I'm a lazy turd. Court has been doing PX90 several times a week, and at first I was joining him. But, dang it's hard! I think I will still to my jogs down to the lake. Much more enjoyable for me. Good job to all of you! See you on the 31st at Paul & Angie's.

Matt & Annette
So what does eating close to nothing and working your butt off daily get you? Well, that depends...If you're Matt, it gets you another 5 pounds lost. If you're Annette, it means absolutely nothing!!!!! At the end of his week 2, Matt is down another 5 pounds for a total of 13 (4.7%) and Annette is unchanged at the end of her 3rd week. If this were the TV show, I would be below the yellow line and probably being voted off. Thank goodness you all cannot eliminate me!
Come have some fun and healthy food
I would like to invite everyone and their families to our home on Sunday, Jan. 30th at 5:00. It may be a little crowded but fun. We will be having healthy snack foods and playing games. If those who are coming could bring a healthy snack and a game, it would help with having more variety to pick from. Please let me know if you can come. Thanks, and hope to see you all there.

Paul
Paul & Angie
Wow! Has anyone seen where all the fat went too? Week 3 has come and gone so fast, but not as fast as all the chub dropping off! Angie this week has now lost a total of 10 lbs making that 6% vanished off the face of the earth. Paul is doing ok too, with a total lost of 18.2lbs and 7.7%. (But who's counting?)

Annette...
So either my body or my scale played a really bad joke on me.... At one time it reported that I had a significant loss that first week! It was too good to be true! So from here on out, I will be using the scale at the gym - it seems to be a bit more reliable! According to that scale, I am down 8.2 pounds equaling 5% loss.
Good work everybody. Regardless of who wins, we will all look hot at the beach this summer! :-)
But just for a little incentive, here is what you are up against...

Thanks Annette for setting up this blog. It will be great to see how everyone is progressing. I hate to admit I might be off to a bit of a slower start than the rest of you fat-fighting-fools...but I will post my stats on Monday and hopefully see some progress! Monday is the day Court and I have been weighing in. Good luck everyone!
Angie and Paul
Great job Matt! The hard work really does pay off. Paul and I have been trying to eat better as well, we have been eating a lot more chicken and turkey and cutting back on the carbs. I am trying to exercise daily, Paul doesn't have to exercise at home much because he is doing it all day at work.
As of Sunday it has been two weeks for us. Paul has lots 12 lbs. and that is about 5.1 % of his body weight. I lost 8.4 lbs. and that equalled 5 % of mine.
I am anxious to see how everyone is doing. Good Luck! Your going to need it.

Matt week 1
Week went well. Cut my calories to 1700 per day with cardiovascular and weight training. We are eating Every three hours and this seems to be helping my late night hunger. It is difficult to get into the habit of eating when I get up, but at this point I am forcing myself.
Was happy with my week one results. I lost 8lbs which was about 2.8%. My goal over the competition is to try to reach 5lbs per week. I know after a few weeks this will get more difficult.
For this week my goal is to maintain my 1700 cal a day menu and also work out 6 of the 7 days. My next weigh in will be Saturday January 16.
Thanks for the support and good luck to all of you in your weight loss goals!

Everybody blog!!!!
So I am trying to make this as easy ass possible. I think I fixed it so we can all add our own blog entries. Let's see if this works!
Off and running....
Okay, maybe we are not all running, but we are on our way to a slimmer, healthier, more active life. And for one of us, a fatter wallet!
Because we all live so far away from each other, this will be our way to keep the competition going - see where everyone is at in their progress and keep us all accountable. We can cheer each other on, trash talk, or what ever it takes to achieve our goals. Check back for at least weekly updates on each of your competitors!
